Thrift Shops are for Men Too!!
Thrift Shops really are a gold mine for everyone. I wasn’t ever a big fan of thrift shops because I thought they were just stores full of old junk. I didn’t realize that they were wonderful little meccas full of used, slightly used, or sometimes never used items that people were done with but have so much life left in them. The “stuff” can be anything from a trinket, to tableware, mugs, clothes or POWERTOOLS!!
Yes. Powertools.
I love building things and I love having all the tools to build things, but if I purchased every tool I’ve ever drooled over… well, I’d be broke. That’s where thrift shops like the Care and Share in Souderton, PA and the ReStore in Chalfont,PA help me achieve my mandreams of being The Dude that everyone envies because of his massive tool selection. You can find unbeatable deals on things that would be nice to have for a project here or there, but not something you want to fork out full price on to use once or twice. Most of them also run specials like 1/2 off day or even 75% off day.
The other day while I was browsing through the Care and Share, I came across a jigsaw. It had a pink price tag of $9.95. While that is a good deal on a normal day, it was their “Pink tags are 75% off” day. YUP $2.50 for a jigsaw. I’ve wished I had one for a few projects I’d done, but just never wanted to shell out $50 for something I may use so infrequently. But for less than three bucks it was definitely joining my other tools.
Now I have a jigsaw in my toolbox, ready and waiting for the next big project. I also have enough coin left in my pocket to go enjoy a brew with the boys.
Happy Shopping
