DIY Patio Furniture Cover Hack

I love to sit on the patio and enjoy a brew. Last year we saved up our pennies and purchased a nice comfy cushioned patio set. It is wonderful, comfortable and enjoyable. The only downfall is there are a lot of cushions to pick up and bring in every time there is a chance of rain. I can’t stand having a pile of cushions in the corner of the kitchen AND there is no way I’m going to truck them all back to the shed. Patio boxes are nice, but they take up room and most of the ones we’ve had in the past seem to leak. I’ve researched patio furniture covers, but they are all so expensive.

Last week I was shopping and came across a center-of-the-aisle impulse display full of grill covers. The prices ranged from $7 to about $40 depending on quality. It hit me that one of the covers had dimensions that were similar to my patio loveseat and it was only $10. I picked it up and decided to give it a try.

I stacked up the cushions from the chairs and loveseat on the love seat frame…

and covered it all up.

Now the cushions are dry and readily accessible where we need them – right on the patio. And rather than lose the cover, simply fold it up and tuck it under one of the cushions where it will remain ready for use at the next threat of rain.
